The comedian discusses pop culture on his podcast, Everything Iconic, with weekly recaps and hilarious commentary on Reality TV. With 65k Instagram followers his daily housewives meme’s are iconic to the Bravo fan club. Danny opened up about all things housewives, social media, and his journey to becoming a Bravoholic…
1- HOW DID YOU BECOME A BRAVOHOLIC?
“I started watching with RHONY around season 2. Prior to that I watched My Life on the D-List and Inside The Actor’s Studio on Bravo, but RHONY really got me fully addicted to the channel and then when RHONJ came around I never looked back.”
2- WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE HOUSEWIFE AND FAVORITE FRANCHISE?
“My favorite housewife is Ramona Singer and New York is my favorite city for the franchises. I love ALL of them (even Dallas and Potomac), but I feel RHONY has been the most consistent throughout the years and they have the most beautifully insane cast of characters. I think each of the New York girls could successfully head a spin-off series, and I wouldn’t say that about any of the other cities. They also are the most genuinely funny (Atlanta is right up there with them in the comedy department), but they also have drama and the pace moves so fast.”
“RHOBH is great because the drama is more layered, but the story moves at a snails pace oftentimes (especially this last season). Although I love New York, RHOD season 2 was NEXT-LEVEL and Potomac is something special this season and I hope more people hop on board to both. I worry they will go the way of RHOM which, in my opinion, delivered one of the best seasons of any franchises in their season 2.”
3- HOW DID YOU START EVERYTHING ICONIC?
“I started making memes that I thought were funny as another outlet for comedy (I write and perform). I noticed my Housewives memes tended to be the most popular, and the most fun to do, so I kept making them. That led to me starting a podcast (called Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino) where I deep-dive into Housewives, Bravo, and general pop culture.”
4- HOW MANY HOUSEWIFE’S FOLLOW AND/OR DM YOU?
“I’m not sure which Housewife followed me first on Instagram, but I know the Countess, Dorinda, LeeAnne, Lisa Rinna, and a few others follow me. I still get thrilled when I see Kim Richards like a post. None of them DM me juicy stuff, but I have booked them on my podcast via DM’s. Also, fans of Housewives will DM me VERY juicy scoop. I don’t always know if it’s true or not, but I assume it all is. Daily I will hear from assistants or drivers or people who come in daily contact with these women and they always tell me the BEST stories.”
5- IF YOU COULD GET RID OF ANY HOUSEWIFE AND BRING BACK A FORMER HOUSEWIFE WHO WOULD IT BE?
“I would like to get rid of Lisa Vanderpump. She’s great, and I don’t want to get rid of her for good, I just want her to step away for like 2 seasons. I think RHOBH has become stale and LVP sort of lords over that franchise. I think if she took a season or two off, it would allow the other girls to mix it up a bit more without the LVP politics getting in the way of the drama. Plus, she has her spin-off, so we’ll still get to see her, but she won’t be bogging down RHOBH.”
“I also think Beverly Hills needs to bring back one of the messy girls— Brandi, Kim, Taylor, Dana/Pam. Really any of them would help spice up the show because the most recent season was, I think, the most boring season of any Housewives franchise ever. I know fans don’t LIKE a lot of those women, but we need some women who are able to bring drama. I’d also like to see them cast a male Housewife soon, and Beverly Hills seems like the perfect city to finally add a main male cast member. It’s time to have a gay male twirling and delivering a kick ass tagline in the opening credits”
